Osun 2026: Oyebamiji Unveils Mechanised Farming Agenda

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has pledged to prioritise mechanised agriculture and rural infrastructure as part of efforts to transform the state’s economy if elected.

Oyebamiji made the pledge on Friday while addressing supporters during the APC campaign rally held at the Ibokun and Ijebu-Jesa market squares in Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.

Speaking after meeting with traditional rulers in Ibokun, the APC candidate said agriculture would form the cornerstone of his administration’s economic agenda, noting that Osun possesses a comparative advantage in the sector.

Expressing confidence in his electoral victory, Oyebamiji said his administration would promote mechanised farming across agrarian communities to boost productivity, attract more people to farming and improve the livelihoods of residents.

“I am optimistic that with your support, I will emerge victorious in the August 15 governorship election. One of our major priorities is to develop Osun’s economy through agriculture, where the state has a comparative advantage.

“We will encourage mechanised farming in agrarian communities to make farming easier, more attractive and more productive,” he said.

He added that his government would complement increased agricultural production by improving access to markets through the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads.

“We will not only improve agricultural output, but also connect farming communities to markets by constructing new roads and rehabilitating existing ones in rural areas,” Oyebamiji stated.

Addressing another rally in Ijebu-Jesa, the APC standard-bearer assured residents that his administration would ensure equitable distribution of development projects across the state, promising to shun nepotism and favouritism in governance.

He said no local government area would be neglected under his administration.

“As I stated during our campaign flag-off in Ile-Ife, and reiterated before our traditional rulers in Obokun and Oriade, our administration will not prioritise one local government over another.

“Every part of Osun State will enjoy the dividends of good governance because we are seeking votes from all local government areas,” he said.

Oyebamiji also lamented the condition of public infrastructure in the area, including schools, primary healthcare centres and roads, promising to rehabilitate public schools, revitalise healthcare facilities and recruit qualified teachers and health workers to improve service delivery.

Earlier, the APC candidate paid courtesy visits to the Ogboni of Ibokun, Oba Festus Adegboro; the Egboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Moses Agunsoye; and other traditional rulers in the federal constituency, where he received royal blessings and prayers for the success of his governorship bid.
