2027: Close Ranks For Tinubu’s Re-Election, Ondo APC Directs Groups, Caucuses
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has directed youth groups, caucuses, and support groups campaigning for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to unite and close ranks for next year’s election.
The Chairman of the party, Hon Kolawole Babatunde, also asked party elders and stakeholders across the state to close ranks and work together in the overall interest of the party.
The Chairman, in a statement by the party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro, stated that the time has come for every member of the party to subordinate their personal interests to the collective objective of securing victory for President Tinubu and all APC candidates.
According to him, “Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated exemplary leadership by placing the success of the party above personal considerations. His commitment should inspire every APC member to embrace unity, discipline, and purposeful mobilisation.
“The victory we seek belongs to all of us, and it is only through collective effort that we can guarantee continuity of progressive governance and consolidate the developmental gains being recorded at both the federal and state levels.”
Also, the party chairman commended Aiyedatiwa for what it described as his unwavering commitment to strengthening the party and laying a solid political foundation for the overwhelming victory of President Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Babatunde said the governor has demonstrated uncommon statesmanship by dedicating himself to consolidating the party’s structures across the state despite not being a candidate in the forthcoming presidential election.
Babatunde said: “Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has shown that genuine leadership is measured not by personal ambition but by one’s willingness to work tirelessly for the collective success of the party and the nation.
“His commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and the victory of every APC candidate is worthy of commendation.”
Babatunde noted that the Governor’s recent directive for the reconstitution of the quarterly APC Stakeholders’ Meeting across the state to accommodate all critical stakeholders is a strategic decision aimed at promoting inclusiveness, strengthening internal democracy, and ensuring that every segment of the party is carried along.
He explained that the stakeholders’ meeting, which draws party leaders from all the 203 wards in Ondo State, has become the party’s principal platform for political consultation, mobilisation, and strategic planning ahead of future elections.
His words, “Our strength has always been our unity. By expanding the stakeholders’ structure to include every relevant voice within our great party, Governor Aiyedatiwa is further deepening internal cohesion and ensuring that no genuine stakeholder is left behind. This is how enduring political victories are built.”
The party also applauded the Governor’s support for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, describing the initiative as a formidable grassroots mobilisation platform that is effectively taking the achievements and policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to every polling unit and community across Ondo State.
According to him, the collaboration between the APC and the Renewed Hope Ambassadors represents a united front that will significantly strengthen public engagement and grassroots political participation ahead of the next general elections.
Babatunde observed that the Governor has continued to complement political mobilisation with visible governance through massive investments in infrastructure, rural development, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, and economic development.
He particularly commended the Governor’s ongoing urban renewal programme in Akure, including modern road infrastructure, beautification projects, and the construction of strategic flyovers designed to position the Ondo State capital among the leading modern cities in Nigeria.
The Chairman also praised the administration’s deliberate efforts to open up rural communities through the construction and rehabilitation of strategic road networks, describing the projects as economic lifelines that will stimulate commerce, improve agricultural productivity, and enhance connectivity throughout the state.
He said, “Good governance remains the strongest campaign message. Governor Aiyedatiwa understands that infrastructure is not merely about concrete and asphalt; it is about improving lives, creating opportunities, and inspiring confidence in government.
“These achievements will undoubtedly resonate with the electorate.”
The party equally noted that the overwhelming victory recorded by the APC in the recent Ondo South Senatorial District by-election is a reflection of the strength, organisation, and growing acceptance of the party among the people of Ondo State.
While acknowledging that every election presents its own unique dynamics, the APC expressed confidence that the unity currently being fostered by Governor Aiyedatiwa will further consolidate the party’s electoral fortunes in future contests.
